Pendulum Test

The Pendulum Test is used to assess slip risk potential of pedestrian walking surfaces and has been a core component of our slip resistance testing portfolio since we were first established. One of our original service offerings, it continues to be an important part of our day-to-day operations. Our fully trained and certified operators have significant experience within the pedestrian floor safety market and we have established a well-earned reputation as one of the leading pendulum test providers in the UK.

Nationwide Pendulum Slip Testing

We offer a nationwide pendulum slip test service to customers all over the UK. We provide rapid and responsive slip resistance testing that accurately measures and documents the non slip properties of a variety of walking surfaces. Our pedestrian slip test service is completely tailored to your unique environment but always includes:

  • A Pendulum Test.

Carried out in accordance to BS 7976-2:2002+A1:2013, which is the preferred pedestrian slip test method recommended by the UK Health and Safety Executive and the current UK Slip Resistance Group Guidelines, Issue 4:2011. Slip resistance results measured using the pendulum test is the only evidence accepted by UK courts in civil slip injury claims.
  • Surface Roughness Measurements.

We use multiple methods to determine slip resistance and provide the most accurate pendulum test report. This provides additional information about your floor's surface construction and any related risks from contamination. It also provides slip test information on areas such as stair nosings and other hard to reach areas.

We provide a comprehensive, site specific pedestrian slip test report outlining the area(s) tested, pendulum test measurements taken and slip risk classifications recorded.
  • We can offer you more than just test results.

When requested we can also advise on any additional practical control measures to reduce pedestrian slip risk.
